What happens to the edges?

Social Media Format Tests is Viktor Vasilyev’s personal research project comparing how Instagram, TikTok and YouTube accept and display images and short videos in different aspect ratios.

These are calibration assets, not research findings. No test outcome or platform approval is claimed.

How the test works

Numbered grid lines reveal cropping. Four coloured edges identify which sides disappear. A central circle makes non-uniform stretching visible. Each original is preserved with its dimensions and SHA-256 hash in the asset manifest.

Publishing is performed by a separate local tool after account authorization. This website hosts public project information and synthetic test assets; it does not offer public account connection or uploading.
